Timeline for Where We are in Space and Time IB Unit

Some of you have asked me for the project books I showed in class and I'm posting them here for you to peruse or take a look at. You can decide to do a timeline based on one of the models from the book or you may choose to do a Travel Back in Time pamphlet. See directions for both below.
Resource Booklets:

IB Theme - Where We Are in Place and TimeTIME TRAVEL OR TIMELINE PROJECTDue January 11, 2013
OPTION 1 - TIME TRAVEL PROJECT
  • The title of the brochure should state the brochure's agency’s name and a slogan.
  • Choose a "minimum" (could be more) of 10 entries in your timeline that you feel have made the most impact in the history of space discoveries and explorations. A minimum of six (could be more) of those entries must be based on inventions or discoveries. Four of the entries (could be more) must be based on explores that made a major contribution to space discoveries and explorations.
  • The title of the brochure should state the brochure's purpose
  • Use images for color and added interest
  • Try Microsoft Publisher for a pamphlet format, if available
  • Neatness counts! Do as much as you can on the computer
  • Download pictures from the internet
  • Must use at least three different types of resources, for example, encyclopedia, book, article, or online research.
  • Be accurate- research your topic and document your sources (where you got the information)

OTION 2: BROCHURE
You will be creating a brochure/pamphlet to entice customers to travel back in time. Your brochure should tell and illustrate to customers why they should want to use your time travel vacation service to travel back in time and experience the amazing discoveries and space explorations of our time. You should follow the same guidelines as above for your timeline in your time travel pamphlet.
You may use the following websites to create your own brochure electronically or a hard copy to bring to class:
If you are very technological and want to make a virtual pamphlet, poster or presentation you may use one of these websites.
  • Photostory 3 - you must download this software for free online. Just type Photostory 3 download in Google and the software will show up. Click download and you're ready to use this great resource.
  • Prezi.com - This one works like a powerpoint with more fun features
  • Glogster - This is a virtual poster that can have videos or pictures and many other features
  • Scratch- This is a fun way to create an animated story out of your timeline
